Lions Roar Goodbye!

After delighting thousands of lion fans from all over the world this summer, it’s time to say farewell to the Lions of Windsor and Maidenhead pride

After three months delighting fans of all ages, the Lions of Windsor & Maidenhead sculpture trail will end on 27 October and the life-sized felines will return to the Lion’s Den for artists to groom into tip-top condition before the ‘Lions Roar Goodbye’ weekend.
The ‘Lions Roar Goodbye’ auction preview will see the full pride displayed in Windsor on Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 November, allowing lion fans to say their farewells to the beautifully decorated lion and cub sculptures and choose which they may like to bid for at the charity auction.
Lisa Todd, Creative Director, Lions of Windsor, said, “The event team has been overwhelmed by the number of high-profile artists wanting to be part of the Lions of Windsor and Maidenhead art trail, the incredible number of visitors who have come to see the pride and the worldwide press interest in this public art event. We are expecting thousands of people to attend the Roar Goodbye weekend, where the giant pride will be gathered together for the first and last time and visitors can decide which lions, they might like to bid for at the Charity Gala Auction.”
As well as the magnificent pride of life-sized lions, the ‘Roar Goodbye’ auction preview weekend will include an exhibition of lion artists’ work, design-a-lion workshops, face painting, live entertainment, competitions, “Antiques Roarshow” valuations from Dawson’s auctioneers and exclusively designed lion merchandise.
