WWII veterans create a “MOMENT” for Simon Cowell on Britain’s Got Talent

When I saw singing group, The D Day Darlings in their audition on Britain’s Got Talent a few weeks ago I immediately contacted them to see if they would like The Taxi Charity to arrange for some WWII veterans to join them on stage if they were successful in reaching the live semi finals. The D Day Darlings have entertained at Taxi Charity events for these amazing veterans in the past so it seemed like a good match for both parties

What I didn’t realise when we made the offer was how little notice we would have to pull this together. The D Day Darlings were confirmed as semi finalists on the Saturday night and I was contacted on the Sunday at 6 pm with a view to making this happen for the live show the following evening.

For those of you who saw the show go out on the Monday The Taxi Charity pulled out all the stops and a group of WWII veterans walked on stage at the end of the performance to create what Simon Cowell described as a “moment” The veterans were blown away by the reaction they received from the audience in the Apollo and I was reduced to tears seeing them proudly walk on stage.

It is a real pleasure to work with this charity and these heroes
