Charity Enjoy a Day at Brands Hatch

On 14 November the Charity Diagrama was delighted to attend Brands Hatch as guests of Racing Events.

On Sunday 14 November Diagrama was delighted to take JJ, Kevin, and Edward, three residents from their Supported Living Service in Bromley to watch the Brit Cars event at Brands Hatch, as guests of Racing Events who provide motorsport hospitality.

One of the residents who attended the Brit Cars event was thirty-year-old JJ, who said,  “I have loved cars since I was about five and because of this passion my Dad calls me  a ‘car nut’ and he’s right I am. Kevin, Edward and I had the most marvellous time and saw cars including Minis, Mercedes Fords and Ginetta. I even got the chance to sit in one of the cars. The whole day was amazing, and I would love to do it again.”

Gary Johnson, Partner, Racing Events, Brands Hatch, said, “Racing Events was pleased to be able to support Diagrama, providing some fun and joy at Brands Hatch, and creating memories for the future.”

Eddie Hay, Development and Support Worker,  Bromley Supported Living Service who went to Brands Hatch  for the day, said, “JJ, Kevin and Edward were delighted to have the opportunity to spend the day at Brands Hatch. When the drivers realised what a car enthusiast JJ was, they made a real fuss of him and let him sit in one of their cars which made his day. Days out are so important, and our heartfelt thanks go to Gary Johnson at Racing Events who generously donated the tickets.”

After the excitement about the visit to Brands Hatch, Diagrama asked JJ, Kevin and Edward, who share a home in the Supported Living Service,  what type of day out they might like next and there was a resounding vote to attend a football club and see behind the scenes.

About the Supported Living Service

Diagrama manages a Supported Living Service in the London Borough of Bromley. Supported living focuses on supporting vulnerable people to develop the skills and confidence to live in their own house either on their own or with others so they can lead independent, fulfilled lives. Everyone is different, so the support varies according to each person’s individual needs. Diagrama works closely with other local organisations to enable access to a wide variety of opportunities for those they support to be active, valued members of their local community.

About The Diagrama Foundation

The charity Diagrama supports vulnerable people through residential care, adoption and fostering across the southeast of England. The foundation has three small care homes for adults with learning disabilities, a 48-bed care home for elderly with nursing and dementia needs, three homes for vulnerable young people and a Supported Living Service.

Many vulnerable people don’t get the support they need to develop their true potential, but the Diagrama team know that when someone has time and belief invested in  them, they come alive, because that investment has made them feel valued and worthy.

By making the effort to discover the real individual within you can build trust and unlock their hidden potential, igniting a renewed sense of hope and ambition for their life otherwise lost.

Diagrama’s dedicated team provides person-centred, solution-focused services for vulnerable children and adults, because everyone deserves the chance to live their best possible life.
