Residents at Edensor Care Centre, Diagrama Foundation’s nursing and dementia care home in Clacton-on-Sea, were treated to an afternoon of magic, laughter, and festive spirit as the cast of the Princes Theatre’s pantomime Magical Adventures of Peter Pan paid a special visit on Tuesday, 9 December.

Arriving in full costume, members of the cast, including Peter Pan, Tink, the Island Chief and Smee joined residents for a joyful meet-and-greet, an interactive Q&A session, and a heartwarming sing-along featuring Christmas songs and favourites from the show. The visit filled the home with smiles and excitement ahead of the festive season.
Residents had the opportunity to chat with the performers and share in the magic of pantomime, an especially meaningful experience for those living with dementia, who often benefit greatly from music, storytelling, and social engagement.
Ewa Ruskowiak, Care Coordinator, Edensor Care Home said: “Having a full programme of visits and activities is incredibly important for the wellbeing of our residents. Experiences like today’s pantomime visit bring so much joy, spark memories, and really brighten our days. The cast were absolutely wonderful, and their energy and kindness have truly got everyone here in the Christmas spirit.”
The visit is part of Edensor’s ongoing commitment to offering enriching experiences that support emotional, physical, and cognitive wellbeing. Diagrama Foundation works closely with community partners to ensure residents have regular opportunities to connect, celebrate, and enjoy meaningful activities throughout the year.

The Magical Adventures of Peter Pan pantomime runs at the Princes Theatre throughout the festive season, and the cast were delighted to bring a taste of the show to Edensor.
Georgina Newton who plays Tink said: “I just think it is so so special to be able to bring pantomime to the community. I thought it was so lovely that we were able to bring a little bit of magic to people who might not necessarily be able to get to the theatre. It’s great fun and a dream, and it’s really great everyone wants to get involved.”
