Two members of the Edensor Care Centre team in Clacton are taking part in a charity skydive to raise money for vulnerable people supported by Diagrama Foundation.
Care assistant Samyuktha and registered nurse Kaushila are the latest Diagrama Foundation team members to sign up for the Diagrama Charity Skydive 2026, taking the total number of people preparing to jump from a plane to an incredible 13.
The fundraising challenge will take place on Friday 18 September at Headcorn Aerodrome in Kent, with the team aiming to raise £25,000 to support vulnerable children and adults across Diagrama Foundation’s services.
For Samyuktha, known as Sam, who has worked as a care assistant for four years, the skydive represents a huge personal challenge. She has a long-standing fear of heights but has decided to face that fear head-on.
Sam initially worked at Edensor while completing her master’s in management, before joining the care team full-time. She says she loves making residents smile, chatting with them and providing care.
“Caring for people gives me a sense of personal satisfaction and makes me feel that my work has meaning,” said Sam. “I want to try skydiving because I am very scared of heights. I want to overcome this fear, step out of my comfort zone and challenge myself to do something I have never done before.
“I want to support Diagrama because every day I go to Edensor and see the residents. I just want to do something for them in return.”
For Kaushila, who has cared for residents at Edensor for the past two years, the challenge could not be more different. Originally from Nepal, Kaushila has wanted to try skydiving for years.
“The best part of my job is to make someone’s life better day by day, and to make them smile,” said Kaushila. “Working for Diagrama Foundation has given me a smile and a kind of peace in my life. The organisation helps many people and so I want to support it in a meaningful way.”
The Diagrama Charity Skydive 2026 was originally the idea of Graham, a resident at Duckyls Farm Cottage, one of Diagrama Foundation’s residential services for adults with learning disabilities.
Wanting to give something back to the charity that has transformed his life, Graham suggested the challenge as a way of raising money to create more opportunities for other people supported by Diagrama.
The team is hoping to raise £25,000 through the challenge, with funds helping to provide life-enriching opportunities for vulnerable children and adults.
Money raised will support projects including accessible learning spaces, sensory and wellbeing resources, enrichment activities, therapeutic support and outdoor learning opportunities.

“Their reasons to join the challenge may be very different, but what they have in common is their desire to give something back to the people they care for every day.
“This skydive is about much more than jumping out of an aeroplane. It is about people challenging themselves to create opportunities for others. We are incredibly proud of everyone taking part and grateful to everyone who supports them.”
The charity is encouraging local people, businesses and community groups to support the 13 skydivers with a donation or by sharing their fundraising efforts.
