Timpson Give Free Holiday to Ashford Based Foster Family

Chris and Nic Kimmance, foster carers with the charity Diagrama Foundation are delighted to have been given a family holiday by high street giant Timpson.

The Kimmance Family and their foster child will enjoy a holiday to the Festival of Sport between the 12-15 August courtesy of The Alex Timpson Trust, part of well-known high street provider of shoe repairs and key cutting Timpson.

The Kimmance family who foster with the charity Diagrama Foundation will enjoy three night’s glamping accommodation, access to activities and coaching sessions for children and adults, evening entertainment including outdoor cinema and live music and £250 to use towards food.

 

 

Nic Kimmance,  Diagrama Foundation Foster Carer, saidOur family is over the moon to have been awarded this holiday in North Norfolk by The Alex Timpson Trust. The Festival of Sport is held in the beautiful surrounds of Holkham Estate and is designed for active families like ours who share a passion for sport and the outdoors. Our foster child will  have an amazing opportunity to receive expert coaching in a programme of core sports, whilst also trying her hand at a range of sports including rugby, hockey, tennis, football, rowing, kayaking, cricket, gymnastics, netball, athletics, archery, trampolining, judo and many more! She is so excited, as are my husband Chris and our children Lucy and Maddy who will also enjoy this experience.”

A Timpson Spokesperson said, “The Alex Timpson Trust was set up in memory of Alex Timpson, John Timpson’s late wife. Alex and John were passionate foster carers, and they founded the charity to continue to support looked after children. The aims of the Trust are to  provide free holidays for foster families, free books about caring for looked after children, and funding for projects and charities supporting the well-being of disadvantaged children.”

Diagrama Foundation is a Kent based charity that supports vulnerable children, young people, and adults to live their best life.

Diagrama has a Supported Living Service across Bromley, three homes for adults with learning disabilities in Orpington, a 50-bed care home for the elderly with nursing and dementia needs in Essex, and a fostering and adoption service covering the southeast.

  • The Supported Living Service, cares for 35 adults with learning disabilities, in nine homes across Bromley helping them to develop skills and confidence to live in their own house either on their own or with others.

Many vulnerable children and adults don’t get the support they need to develop their true potential, but the Diagrama team know that when someone has time and belief invested in  them, they come alive, because that investment has made them feel valued and worthy.
